Distinguished Fellow of the ACCF Center for Policy Research

Gregory Mankiw, Professor of Economics at Harvard University
The ACCF Center for Policy Research inaugurated its Distinguished Fellows Program in 1994 to bring the tax, regulatory, and environmental policy research undertaken for the Center by some of the nation's leading scholars to the attention of policymakers and opinion shapers in the Congress, the administration, and the media. There is a continuing need in the public policy arena for academic research on capital formation issues to help clarify the economic impact of such policies and provide guidance for policymakers.

The Honorable N. Gregory Mankiw, Professor of Economics at Harvard University, is the ACCF Center for Policy Research’s Distinguished Fellow in Tax Policy for 2005. Professor Mankiw’s research included work on price adjustment, consumer behavior, financial markets, monetary and fiscal policy, and economic growth. His published articles have appeared in academic journals and in more widely accessible forums such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, and Fortune.

He has written two popular economics textbooks. Professor Mankiw has been a research associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research and an adviser to the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and the Congressional Budget Office. From 2003 to 2005 he served as Chairman of the President’s Council of Economic Advisers. Professor Mankiw is a member of the Center’s Board of Scholars.
