Midwest Manufacturing Energy Summit Hears ACCF Views
January 6, 2009Dr. Margo Thorning, ACCF senior vice president and chief economist, addressed the Midwest Manufacturing Energy Summit on “The Impacts of Midwestern Accord on Midwest’s Economy” on January 6. Hosted by Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce, the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce, and other participating Midwest business associations and held near Chicago, the Midwest Manufacturing Energy Summit provided industry stakeholders in Midwest states with updated information on the Midwestern Greenhouse Gas Reduction Accord and its related regulatory programs and an analysis of the economic impacts for the Midwest regional economy. The key product being developed by the Accord’s Advisory Group is a cap-and-trade model rule that would apply to electric utilities and larger industrial sources.
